I'm not a fine artist... I have what is generally termend artistic selection. It applies to photography and any other process where choosing the instant to record or stop the process is an important part of determining what the audience perceives. One example of this is Google Maps, where my contributed photos have over a million views. Another is procedural graphics, where you choose to pursue an algorithm that produces pleasing results. I applied this frequently at NIMH, where I had to take concept art supplied by the investigators and conform it to the experiment and the limitations of the equipment. My subjective sense of beauty motivates many of my hobbies. |
